    My name is Amanda Becker and I am a strategist and creative thinker with a degree in Strategic & Corporate Communication from Chapman University.

    With a wide variety of experience ranging from social media marketing with a local Orange County non-profit to interning in the publicity department of a major record label in Los Angeles, I thrive in a fast-paced environment and consider organization one of my best qualities. I love working in groups and coming up with innovative ways to spread the wider influence for good.

    When I am not in class or working, you can find me reading about pop-culture, riding a bike at SoulCycle or exploring new cities. I would love to get more experience and welcome any opportunities that come my way!

    Probation Peer Mentor

    August 2016 - January 2017

    I acted as a support system for students on academic probation and struggling with the possibility of being dismissed from the university. I met with them on a weekly basis to provide them with support and assistance on learning necessary skills to succeed at Chapman. I did so by offering suggestions and advice on study habits, test-taking skills, organization, test anxiety and time management. Additionally, I showed them Chapman's resources and answered any questions they had throughout the semester.

    I prepared press clippings, updated email lists and spreadsheets, manned the phones and maintained publicity department database with magazine and newspaper mentions of the artists. Additionally, I supported and assisted the Assistant Publicist and VP of Publicity in various office tasks and errands.

    September 2015 - December 2015

    I wrote 2 blog posts per week using the company blog via Wordpress as well as created and implement a daily social media campaign, including posts on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram.
    Additionally, I maintained Hera's Pinterest board by posting to vendor boards and company's boards and encouraged customer engagement by making creative quizzes and graphics for users to enjoy.

    Social Media Intern

    April 2014 - December 2014

    I maintained daily posts on the nonprofit organization's Facebook and Twitter accounts and implemented an Instagram account, which is still in use today. I also tracked hits on social media using the program HootSuite to get a better idea about what posts worked better than others. Additional tasks included creating photo collages of employees and CASA's, working with calendars, finding curated content to share, and creating fun ways to promote CASA's fundraisers.

    Project and campaign assignments for my classes at Chapman University

    Cocorose Boutique


    Message Design campaign for a local clothing boutique targeted at college-aged women in the Orange area. The goal of the project was to design a program to help the company make more revenue in the lull months.

    Zito's Pizza


    A social media marketing campaign for the local pizza joint that identified local competition, a social media audit, and tentpole events to capitalize on, as well as a content strategy with example posts.

    Product Launch


    Invented a product and planned its launch into the marketplace with a campaign that identified the target audience and created ads and a storyboard to best reach them.

    Crisis Communication


    A risk & crisis communication plan that identifies and finds solutions to crisis communication possibilities within the Starbucks Company, as well as sample messages to release in the event of a crisis.

    Senior Seminar


    A campaign to boost awareness as well as donors for the nonprofit organization, With Purpose. Worked with the founder, Erin Benson, to create a social media strategy, fundraising strategy and overall message design campaign.
